Karen is a Law Society of Scotland Accredited Paralegal specialising in debt recovery in Scotland, the wider UK and overseas. She advises clients on all aspects of commercial and consumer debt recovery, including the risks and considerations when embarking on litigation.

Her experience includes managing cases from the initial letter before action, to court proceedings and the enforcement of decrees and judgements. This includes pre decree protective measures, arrangements, and insolvency measures such as sequestration, liquidation petitions and provisional appointments.

Karen has developed working relationships with the courts, sheriff officers and agents throughout the UK, and overseas helping to provide clients with a complete service to maximise recovery.

During her time as joint president of the Scottish Paralegal Association she worked with the Law Society to introduce a scheme for registering paralegals to ensure standards within the profession. She was the Convener of the Law Society’s Accredited Paralegal Committee for over 8 years and is a mentor in the Law Society of Scotland Career Mentoring Scheme.
